Central Coast Drain Relining is operated by Mark A Jeanes, a sole trader (ABN 11 229 027 126) trading as Central Coast Drain Relining, a registered business name.
It is a referral service. It does not carry out drain relining, CCTV inspections or blocked drain work, does not employ tradespeople, and does not contract for the work advertised on this site. What it does is publish the Central Coast drainage information collected here, take enquiries through the quote form, and refer them on.
One person reads every enquiry that comes in. If your enquiry can be referred to a suitable independent contractor, it is. If it cannot, you are told so rather than left waiting. Where licensing is required, the contractor’s identity and licence details are provided before you accept a quotation or enter a contract, and you can check any NSW plumbing and drainage licence yourself at service.nsw.gov.au.

What Happens To Your Enquiry

Central Coast Focused, Not a Sydney Company Doing Drive-Bys
There is no shortage of drain relining companies willing to drive two hours from Sydney to quote a Central Coast job. The problem with that model is that it shows in the work: technicians who don’t know the local pipe eras, the soil conditions, or the suburb-specific quirks that affect every job they do here.
This site covers the Central Coast and nothing else, from Gosford to Terrigal, Avoca Beach to Kincumber, North Gosford to Point Frederick. The research behind it is specific to that: what pipes were installed in Gosford’s 1960s brick homes, what soil movement does to terracotta joints on Terrigal’s sandstone headland, and why coastal salt air in Avoca makes a difference to older cast-iron fittings.
That local depth is not marketing language. It is what decides which questions are worth asking about your drain before anyone quotes it.
The structure here is simple and we would rather be plain about it: we handle the enquiry; independent local drainers and plumbers do the work. Drainage work in NSW must be carried out by, or under the supervision of, a licensed plumber or drainer, so licensing is not a favour anyone is doing you, it is a legal requirement you are entitled to verify.
Why the Central Coast’s Pipe Era Matters
The Central Coast had its major residential building boom between 1960 and 1985. That 25-year window is now the region’s pipe problem. Those homes were built with:
- Terracotta clay sewer pipes, durable in stable soil, brittle under ground movement, highly susceptible to root intrusion at mortar joints
- Early-formula PVC drainage pipe, lighter than terracotta but prone to joint failure and sagging as soil settles over decades
- Cast-iron fittings, used in the 1950s-60s coastal homes as junction components and bend fittings, now subject to internal corrosion and salt-air acceleration in coastal suburbs
Those pipes are 40 to 60 years old. They were never engineered for this lifespan. The failure modes behind most Central Coast drainage enquiries (root intrusion, cracked joints, collapsed sections, slow drains) are not bad luck. They are the predictable outcome of pipe materials reaching the end of their designed service life.
That is the reality this site was built around.
Why a Camera Comes First
Nobody should be quoting or recommending relining without first putting a camera in the pipe. This matters for two reasons:
It protects you from unnecessary work. Some blockages are jetting jobs, not relining jobs. Some pipes that look failed are actually fine. You should not be sold a relining job you don’t need, and a quote given without a camera survey is a guess.
It gives you an accurate diagnosis. A CCTV drain inspection produces a written report with video footage showing every defect, its location, its severity and what is causing it. You understand exactly what the problem is before any work starts. If you decide not to proceed, the report is yours to keep.
For pre-purchase inspections, common on Terrigal and Avoca Beach properties given their price points, ask the contractor whether the report can be formatted for your conveyancer or solicitor. Most can.
What the Work Actually Involves
The work this site is about is CIPP (cured-in-place pipe) relining. The liner technology is:
- Structurally independent, the liner bonds to the host pipe but does not rely on the host pipe for structural integrity. Even if the old terracotta eventually crumbles, the liner stands alone.
- Joint-free, the cured liner has no joints, eliminating the root entry points that caused the original problem.
- Diameter-appropriate, it suits residential pipe sizes from 50mm (kitchen/basin waste) up to 300mm (main sewer laterals), and larger for stormwater.
- Warrantied, the liner carries a 50-year manufacturer product warranty. The contractor who installs it will normally warrant their own workmanship on top of that; get both sets of terms in writing before you accept a quote.
High-pressure water jetting, point repairs and patch lining for localised defects, and stormwater drain relining all work the same way. Where excavation is genuinely unavoidable, such as a fully collapsed pipe with no entry point or an offset greater than a liner can accommodate, relining is the wrong answer, and a contractor worth dealing with will say so rather than line something that cannot support it.
What This Site Does Not Do
It does not carry out the work, quote the work, or price the work. It does not run a bidding panel: your details are not distributed to a list of contractors to compete over. It does not publish reviews, case studies or project photographs it cannot attribute to a real, completed job. And it does not cover the whole of NSW from a Sydney office; it covers the Central Coast.
